The Customs Clock Tower is located at No. 2, Waima Road, Huai’anjuwei, Hai’an Sub-district, Jinping District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It is the office building of the former Chaozhou Customs and is now the Customs History Exhibition Hall of Shantou Customs. The whole building is divided into two floors. It has a rectangular structure. The open corridors on both sides and the 160 decorative windows with the British flag pattern surround the building. It belongs to the European neoclassical architectural style with a construction area of 1556.2 square meters. The area above the main entrance of the office building is decorated with marble. There is a lion head carved at the top, which looks solemn and solemn. In the center, there is a large clock marked with Roman numerals. The Customs Clock Tower is thus named. The bell of the Customs Clock Tower was once the’standard time’ of Shantou City before liberation and accompanied the growth of the older generation of Shantou people. The entire exhibition hall is divided into two exhibition areas upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs shows the historical evolution of customs in the Chaoshan area. The upstairs shows the development and changes of Shantou Customs after liberation. Opening hours: Open from 09:00 to 11:30 and from 15:00 to 17:00 on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year; Closed all day from Monday to Tuesday, Thursday to Friday, and Sunday throughout the year; Open from 09:00 to 17:30 during the Spring Festival.
