Damei Children’s Theme Park is located in the northeast of Daoxiang Lake Park, surrounded by wooden fences, forming an independent paradise. The three towering red birdcages at the entrance are the quintessential representatives, drawing inspiration from Tao Qian’s idea of ‘Long imprisoned in a cage, only then to return to nature.’ The one in the middle can be opened, serving as the park’s entrance and exit, with the cage on the left housing the Transformers’ Bumblebee, and on the right, a peach tree with blooming flowers, branches stretching outside the cage.
The entire park is divided into four eras: the Industrial Age, Agricultural Age, Stone Age, and Future, extending from four core areas: the Steel Forest, Central Plaza, Beach, and Clouds. The designer attempts to find spaces and bridges for dialogue between each era, discovering the threads of communication between nature and children, or between humanity and nature. Only by finding these threads of communication can a comfortable park be created. Here, there is no Disney’s colorful array, but there are clear green waters and colorful flowers. There is no American small-town charm, no fantasy of the Adventure World, no wonder of the Fantasy World, no divine beings of Tomorrow World. Here, there is only the simple perspective of a 1.2-meter-tall child, simple slides, leisurely caves, and the elegance of wind-blown bamboo flutes. In the second phase of planning, the scenic area will expand its business area, provide more high-quality and considerate services, add water activities, beach activities, and camping projects, to a large extent realizing the dream of creating an original children’s paradise.
