Da Pu Mountain Scenic Area is located next to Junxian County in Hebi City. It is conveniently situated close to the county town, with the scenic area being just a short walk of about ten minutes from the county bus station. The scenic area encompasses two peaks, Da Pu Mountain and Fu Qiu Mountain (each peak has its own ticket), which face each other and can both be visited within a day. Both peaks are not very high, standing at just over a hundred meters, but their prominence in the flat plains makes them appear strikingly elegant.

According to local legends, Da Yu, the ancient Chinese hero who controlled the floods, once visited this place. Within the scenic area, Taoist temples and Buddhist monasteries are connected, and visitors can also appreciate numerous cliff inscriptions from various dynasties and hundreds of ancient cypresses dating back to the Han and Tang dynasties. On the back of Da Pu Mountain, there stands a large stone Buddha, approximately 22 meters tall, which is one of the larger stone Buddhas in Northern China, known as ‘Look at the Leshan Giant Buddha in the south, and the Da Pu Mountain Buddha in the north’.

The mountain also houses Tian Ning Temple, which was originally built during the Northern Wei Dynasty and has a history of 1,600 years. Visitors can also explore Song Dynasty’s Tian Qi Temple, Taiping Xingguo Temple, Yuan Dynasty’s Guanyin Rock, Ming and Qing Dynasty’s Yangming Academy, Lu Zu Temple, and Yu Wang Temple, among other Buddhist and Taoist sites. On Fu Qiu Mountain, opposite Da Pu Mountain, you can visit the Tang Dynasty stone carving treasure – the Thousand Buddha Grottoes; and Bi Xia Palace, a famous Taoist site built in the Ming Dynasty.

Inside Wan Xian Pavilion on Fu Qiu Mountain, more than 3,000 characters recorded in Taoist scriptures are depicted using suspended and round sculpting techniques, making it worth experiencing. The scenic area is open year-round from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies: Children under 1.4 meters (inclusive) are free; seniors aged 60 and above with a personal ID card or senior citizen card are free; students with a valid student ID receive a discount; active-duty military personnel and disabled individuals with relevant documents are free.
