Da Chen Island is located outside the mouth of Taizhou Bay, consisting of Upper and Lower Da Chen Island, Yangqi Island, Sheshan Island, Niao Island, and 20 other bird reefs, covering an area of 14.6 square kilometers, 52 kilometers away from Jiaojiang District, Taizhou.
Da Chen Island is a combination of mountains and sea, with lush green trees. Due to the geological structural changes over millions of years and the impact of sea currents and tides, the rocks and reefs around the island are quite peculiar. The island is famous for its natural scenery characterized by strange reefs, towering mountains, and vast seas, and is a provincial-level island forest park.
Upper Da Chen Island is known for its beautiful natural harbor scenery, vividly shaped sea erosion landscapes, diverse forest landscapes, legendary historical relics, and excellent beach bathing places. The famous Wushatou Beach, nestled between mountains and sea, is vast and open with black sand and clear water, providing a refreshing and pleasant experience.
Lower Da Chen Island is characterized by its fishing port charm, steep and magnificent sea erosion landforms, mysterious sea god religious temples, and island plant landscapes. Facilities such as the Da Chen Island Youth Palace, the Reclamation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition Hall, and a group of wind turbines have been built.
The Jia Wu Rock, known as the ‘East Sea Potted Landscape’, is a must-see attraction. It features two giant reefs over 30 meters high, shaped like sails in the vast ocean, pointing to the sky. The two reefs are separated by only a few feet, standing tall and imposing, with a majestic presence. Below the rock, the waves are surging and the white foam is overwhelming.
The island is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
