Dacheng Hall

Dacheng Hall is the main structure of the Confucius Temple, standing at 16 meters tall with five bays. It features a double-eaved hip roof with the four characters ‘Heaven Opens the Way of Literature’ inscribed on the main ridge, adorned with dragon and phoenix brick sculptures on the sides. The double-eaved octagonal structure extends outward with flying rafters, creating a high and soaring appearance characteristic of the Jiangnan-style halls.

Inside the Dacheng Hall, a statue of Confucius is placed in the center, with a plaque inscribed with the four characters ‘Model for All Ages’ above it. The hall also honors Confucius’s renowned students and the synthesizer of Neo-Confucianism, Zhu Xi.
