Dadun Wanxing Palace is a Mazu temple located in Dadun, Taichung City. The Mazu enshrined here is called ‘Flying Mazu’ and ‘Top Street Mazu’. There is a parade activity called ‘Welcoming Mazu in Twenty Villages of Xipu’. Dadun Wanxing Palace was built in the first year of Qianlong (1736). It is also known as the ‘Top Street Mazu Temple’. The temple covers a vast area, facing west and sitting east. There is an archway in front of the temple courtyard, and there are layers of mountains as a backdrop behind the temple. The architecture is in the hard mountain style of North China. There are two phoenixes gracefully on the main ridge, with a divine being riding a tiger in the middle. The side ridges are two dragons. In the main hall, there are Mazu, Thousand-mile Eye, and Favourable Ear. In the back hall, Guanyin Bodhisattva is enshrined. In the left and right side niches, there are Lady of Childbirth and City God respectively. Opening hours: Open all year round from 5:00 to 17:00.
