The Dafeng Scenic Area located in Chaoyang District, Shantou City has an advantageous geographical location and convenient transportation. It was created in memory of the eminent monk Dafeng Patriarch in the Song Dynasty. The Dafeng Patriarch Pavilion, known as ‘the first stone and wood structure in eastern Guangdong’, is the core to plan the scenic area buildings, attracting tourists to visit. At the gate of the scenic area, there is the memorial archway pavilion ‘A Peak in Southern Xinjiang’ inscribed by Ye Xuanping. The pavilion is about 16 meters high and consists of 168 large granite stones, with a majestic image. Tourists enter the gate and ascend the steps. A large number of pavilions and buildings with different styles can be seen one after another. The fountain on both sides of the stone steps and the Guanyin health pool are also among them.
