Daguling is an extension of the Huangshan Mountain Range, stretching from east to west, and shares the same watershed with Tangdi Ridge, Yinxi Ridge, and Fangjia Ridge for the Xin’an River and Qingyi River. The scenery on the mountain is beautiful, mainly featuring waterfalls and vast bamboo forests. It is said that the echoes of the waterfalls in the valley resemble drum sounds, hence the name Daguling. There is a large lawn at the foot of Daguling, specifically designated for camping by tourists. Visitors can bring their own cookware and food for barbecuing on the lawn. The scenic area entrance is a distance from the foot of the mountain, accessible by sightseeing vehicles for a round-trip fare of 15 yuan, or by walking. The journey from the base to the summit does not require too much climbing, and there are three significant waterfalls along the way: the first waterfall is like a wisp of bangs on a young girl’s cheeks, elegant and restrained; the second waterfall resembles a fairy’s fluttering sleeves; the third waterfall is like a strong man beating a drum with a mallet, creating a thunderous noise as it plunges into the pool. At the highest point of Daguling, Xiaoling Head, there is a pavilion called Yongcui Pavilion, which houses a large drum. Walking on the mountain paths, one can often see bamboo forests on both sides of the road, with a refreshing green view that is very comfortable. In addition, the villages and pastoral scenery at the foot of the mountain are also very beautiful.
