Every late autumn, when everything is bleak, the mountains in Wencheng are dotted with red maples and full of vitality. The ancient path and red maples set each other off. Frosty leaves and autumn catkins are flying. There is a bit of romance in the vicissitudes and a little loneliness in the enthusiasm. Tourists come in a continuous stream just to experience a rain of maple leaves and feel the artistic conception of’redder than flowers in February’.
Most of the red maple ancient paths in Wencheng were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. After being washed by the years and continuously repaired, they are spread all over large towns and small villages. There are still more than 60 relatively well-preserved ancient paths. Among them, the red maple ancient paths such as Dahui Ridge, Daoling, Songlong Ridge, Yanian Ridge, Maoli Lei Ridge, and Longchuan Fifty-two Ridge around the county seat are all listed as provincial-level protected units.Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
