Daiyue Peak is located in Shangzhi Hall courtyard, Lixia District, Jinan City. There is an east-west brook in the courtyard. There is a strange stone on each side of the brook to the north and south. The stone on the north side is named ‘Daiyue Peak’ and is a relic of the Song Dynasty. The stone is thin, long and slender, with many cavities and is in the shape of the moon. When the night is deep and the moon is bright, the clear light can pass through the caves and sprinkle on the ground. There is a poem praising it: ‘Elegant and handsome, like jade exquisite. Completely formed by superb craftsmanship. Thirty-six moons in a year, all changes are in this stone.’
