The new Dalian Shell Museum is located on the northwest side of Xinghai Square, adjacent to the century-old city sculpture. Its exterior resembles a massive shell, and the interior design is distinctive. The exhibition hall features a spiraling 800-meter ramp that ascends along the building, giving visitors the sensation of being inside a conch shell.
The museum displays over 8,000 species and 50,000 specimens of shells, as well as more than 3,000 specimens of ammonite fossils. Opening hours are from 09:00 to 16:30 all year round. Preferential policies include: – Children: Free admission for children aged 6 and under or with a height of 1.3 meters and under. – Disabled individuals: Half price with valid identification. – Students: Half price for minors aged 6 to 18 and full-time undergraduate students or below with valid identification. – Elderly: Half price for individuals aged 65 and above with valid identification. – Military personnel: Half price for active-duty military with valid identification and retired military with preferential certificates.Dalian Shell Museum
