Damo Tan Waterfall is located in Tianma Village, Xiema Town, Beibei District, Chongqing City. It is accessible via the highway from Beibei urban area to Xiema Town, and is 10 kilometers away from the urban center. It is a natural scenic area of the waterfall type. Also known as Gaokengyan Waterfall, it is situated at the end of Longfengxi and Gaokengyan.
Damo Tan Waterfall is a hanging rock waterfall, with a width of 62 meters and a height of 38 meters. It presents a spectacular scene with thousands of white streams, colorful reflections, and a powerful momentum, roaring like thunder. In the center of the hanging waterfall, there is an artificially excavated cave sealed with stone slabs, which is inaccessible to people.
On the right side, there are two stone rooms, each measuring 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.5 meters in height, carved out of the rock, with the upper and lower rooms connected. The lower room has a stone window, offering a view of the waterfall. On the left side, there is a stone cave that can only be accessed by climbing up to the rock wall and the Banyan tree, which served as a refuge for the local people during bandit attacks.
