DaqiTou Village is distinguished by its characteristic Qing Dynasty ‘Guor’ residential houses, which are neatly arranged and well-preserved. The village began to form during the Ming Dynasty and was originally constructed during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The ancient architectural complex faces west to east, symbolizing the auspicious phrase ‘Purple Air Comes from the East’. The village is equipped with various landscapes including residential houses, ancestral halls, drying yards, squares, and ponds. The ear-shaped gable walls and wooden lattice doors exude a strong Lingnan style.
The cultural tower at the entrance of the village is one of the signature attractions here. This pen-shaped ancient tower, along with the two stones beneath it and the fish pond in front of it, form a ‘Four Treasures of the Study’ cultural landscape, which is quite meaningful.
