Dashi Hall is located on Yu Mountain. Also known as Guanyin Pavilion, it was renamed Wanshou Pavilion in the 52nd year of Emperor Kangxi’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. It was a place where all the officials in the state city paid homage to the emperor from afar. In the second year of Emperor Qianlong’s reign, it was dedicated to the worship of the Avalokitesvara of the South Sea. Behind the hall stands a stele inscribed with ‘The Emperor’s Inscribed Picture of the Great Heroine Leaving the Mountain’ by Emperor Qianlong, which tells the story of the Avalokitesvara leaving the mountain and changing from male to female. When Fuzhou was restored during the 1911 Revolution, the headquarters of the revolutionary army’s frontline was located inside the hall. Now it is the Fuzhou Museum.
Dashi Hall is adjacent to Huguo Temple in the east and Zhenlong Nunnery in the west. On top of Shizi Rock to the east of the hall, there is an ancient banyan tree. Its aerial roots have unique shapes, and there are numerous inscriptions by famous people on the rock wall.

Opening hours: It is open from 08:30 to 17:00 from January 1st to December 31st.
