Dashuifa was completed around 1759 during the reign of Emperor Qianlong. It is a garden landscape with fountains as the main body and also a relatively large fountain in the Western-style Buildings scenic area. The main building is in the form of a giant stone niche. Under the central arch, there is a lion head spraying water. Along the seven-level water tray, a waterfall is formed. In front and below is an oval chrysanthemum-shaped fountain pool.
In the pool, there is a sika deer with eight-pronged antlers. It sprays water in eight directions. Around the deer, there are ten hunting dogs that seem to be running. The hunting dogs spray water from their mouths and directly hit the deer’s body, splashing layers of water. At both the east and west ends, there is a large curly-tailed bronze animal similar to a dog. They are all in the posture of chasing the deer, commonly known as ‘hunting dogs chasing deer’. Westerners call it ‘beast battle’. In front of and on both sides of Dashuifa, there is a large Western-style water spraying tower. It is square and has thirteen levels. A waterfall is sprayed from the top of the tower. Around the tower, there are also 44 large and small copper pipes all spraying water at the same time. It is a magnificent sight. Opening hours: open all day throughout the year.Dashuifa
