Dawan Shi Ju is located in the Hakka village southwest of Pingshan Market in Pingshan Town, and is a fortified Hakka Weilong house architecture. As a key cultural heritage protection unit in Shenzhen City, Dawan Shi Ju is situated in Pingshan Town, Shenzhen, and is one of the more complete Hakka Weilong buildings preserved in the Shenzhen area. It was built by the Zeng clan, according to clan records.
The Zeng family originally came from Central Plains Wucheng and migrated to Yongfeng Jiyang Village in Ji’an, Jiangxi in the early years of the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. Later, they moved to Shibi Village in Ninghua County, Tingzhou, Fujian, then to Haiyang County in Chaozhou, Guangdong, and finally to Xingning. The thirteenth generation, Jian Hui Gong, first moved to Pingshan, and during the fifteenth generation, Zhou Gong, began the construction of Dawan Shi Ju in the fifty-sixth year of Qianlong’s reign (1791). Opening hours: Closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:30 throughout the year.
