Located on the eastern slope of Dazhu Mountain, there lies a valley known as Zhushan Xiugu. This valley stretches five miles long, with streams rushing through and converging into an artificial lake at the mountain’s base. The azure waters and verdant hills embrace each other, with the green peaks reflected in the clear waters. The mountain is fresher, and the water is clearer. Tourists walk around the lake and follow the stream into the valley, as if entering a picturesque scene.
Spring arrives early in Zhushan Xiugu. Before the Qingming Festival, cherry blossoms, apricot blossoms, and peach blossoms bloom in succession at the valley entrance. After Qingming Festival, on the streamsides and slopes of the valley, the delicate yellow forsythia flowers cluster together, and the pure white pear blossoms spread in large patches. The spring breeze sways the flower branches, creating golden waves and snowy waves in the valley. Further into the valley, a peak of flowers stands vertically, dividing the valley into two. Continuing along the northern valley, one can see the red rhododendrons on the southern shaded slope, blooming from the valley bottom to the mountain peak. Even on the cliffs and steep walls, the flowers are lush and their shadows are graceful. Looking up from the base of the mountain to the summit, the ‘flower waves’ reach the sky, making one feel that the fragrance of these flowers comes from heaven; standing on a high slope and looking down, the ‘flower tide’ rolls, filling the valley with a mist of flowers and fireworks, making one think that these flowers are a sign of auspicious purple light emerging from the depths of the earth. Walking along the stone steps among the flowers, one is surrounded by a torrent of flowers and waterfalls, as if caught in a whirlpool of flowers. Entering April, Zhushan Xiugu is a sea of flowers and people, with the flower events and tourists forming a tourism tide. Climbing to the top of the mountain, one can see that several valleys on the south side are also blooming with rhododendrons, which look like clouds and rosy clouds from afar.
