The Dazu Rock Carvings Museum covers an area of approximately 100 acres and is expected to cost 290 million yuan for construction. Upon completion, the museum will focus on the collection, protection, research, and utilization of Dazu rock carvings, employing modern technological methods such as digitalization, virtual imaging, and multimedia to more fully showcase the historical and cultural value of the Dazu rock carvings. The museum is a significant cultural facility that Chongqing Municipality aims to develop during the ‘Twelfth Five-Year Plan’ period.


Operational hours: The museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year. It is open from 09:00 to 17:00 from Tuesdays to Sundays. On New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, the museum is open from 09:00 to 17:00, and it is closed on Mondays (except for legal holidays and special circumstances).
