Ding Shou An, an ancient hermitage, is nestled at the foot of the Great Buddha Rock. This hermitage, named for its elevated position at over 200 meters and its closeness to the summit of the Great Buddha Rock, was established during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Initially, it was a modest structure, comprising only three rooms dedicated to the worship of Guanyin Bodhisattva and the veneration of the sage Anqi.
After enduring a century of weathering, in 1996, local residents took the initiative to construct a new hermitage about 50 meters below the original site. Within this new sanctuary, they enshrined a white jade statue of Guanyin. The hermitage warmly welcomes visitors from 8:30 to 17:00 every day of the year.
