Dinghai’s West Street is somewhat similar to Hangzhou’s Qinghefang, representing the early bustling commercial street of Dinghai. Stepping into the new West Street, one feels as if they have entered a world where history and modernity blend seamlessly.
Upon entering West Street, one is greeted by a towering windfire wall. The street is lined with uniform two-story wooden buildings, painted in deep red and recently renovated. Crowds come and go under the round door walls, filling the narrow street, with various fragrances and music wafting through the air. Walking on the quaint and elegant stone pavement, one forgets the fast-paced life and feels relaxed and at ease.

A significant feature of West Street is its antique charm. The entire architecture reflects this style, even the hospitals are no exception, which is why the shop signs on West Street are all made with wooden plaques. Recognizing the historical and cultural depth of West Street, some old houses here have been transformed into the ‘City God Temple Snacks’. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
