Dong Hao Chong is one of the main rivers in the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River, located within the territory of Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. Originating from the small river near the south foot of Baiyun Mountain in the Luku area, it enters an underground river at Lukjing Road, passes through Xiatang West Road to Xiaobei Road, and turns into an open canal near Beijiaochang Road, following Yuexiu Road southward, eventually merging into the Pearl River at the Dongti Iron Bridge in the western part of Dashatou. It was dredged during the construction of the city in the third year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1370). The total length is 4225 meters, with a width ranging from 7 to 11 meters. Named Dong Hao Chong due to its location to the east of Guangzhou City. Today, through water replenishment and purification treatment, the water quality of Dong Hao Chong has reached the national surface water Class IV standard, being colorless, odorless, clear, touchable, and harmless to the skin, allowing pedestrians to play in the water. Additionally, by forming a sluice gate linkage, it can improve the water quality of Xinhepu Chong and Donghu, achieving a positive cycle of the urban central water environment. The opening hours are subject to the actual daily opening status.
