Dong’ao Island Chong City was constructed in the seventh year of the Qing Yongzheng era (1729). The main historical sites now include the Chong City and the beacon tower. Chong City is rectangular in plan, measuring 49 meters in length, 22 meters in width, with walls standing 3 meters high and 2 meters thick, all constructed from stone blocks. The city gate features a blue brick arch, and the positions of the cannons on the city walls are clearly visible. In 1987, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit in Zhuhai City, becoming a patriotic education base in Zhuhai. It is open to visitors all year round from 06:00 to 19:00.
