Dongjiushui Village, nestled deep within the Lao Mountain, boasts a plethora of cultural and natural landscapes. To the north of the community lies Weizi Mountain, with Tuangutop and Xiaolaodong’s Pingdingshan to the northeast. To the south of the community are the remains of Hong Shizhu’s villa and the ‘Guan Chuan Tai’ platform. Zhou Zhiyuan, a scholar from Jimo, described the scenery in his work ‘Famous Scenery of Lao Mountain’ as: ‘The gorges suddenly gather and stand in opposition, forming a natural gate’; ‘A clear stream like a sudden rain, several peaks with strange rocks resembling immortals flying through the sky.

Deep forests always allow the calls of secluded birds, and quiet lands always accommodate the sleep of wild deer.’ In his poem ‘Guan Chuan Tai,’ Hong Shizhu wrote: ‘Green mountains turn and rise to a high platform, and the stream beneath the platform never returns.’ This fully describes the characteristics of the scenic beauty here. In 1935, Hong Shizhu’s son, the renowned dramatist Hong Chen, visited Dongjiushui Village.

Standing on the Guan Chuan Tai, he was filled with emotion and renamed the surrounding scenic stones to ‘Ordering Platform,’ ‘Inkstone,’ ‘Pen Rack Stone,’ ‘General Stone,’ and several other scenic spots. The village is open all year round, accessible twenty-four hours a day.
