Fuquan Mountain Scenic Area is located in the southeast hilly region of Dongqian Lake, bordered by Xiangshan Port to the southeast and Dongqian Lake to the northwest. The area is predominantly characterized by its mountain ridges, tea gardens, forested woodlands, meteorological changes of the hills, and the distant views of mountains, sea, and cityscapes. The Wanghai Peak, with an elevation of 556 meters, stands as the highest point within the scenic area. From the summit, one can enjoy the views of Dongqian Lake and Ningbo city to the west, and witness the sunrise over the sea to the east.
The area is lush with vegetation, including pine forests, fir forests, bamboo groves, mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests, and shrublands. The vegetation at the summit is primarily tea plants, with over 3600 acres of tea trees planted in a rounded formation, following the contours of the hills and creating a ‘Green Tea Ridge’ landscape, which is a spectacular sight. At the top of the mountain, there is a clear pond known as ‘Longtan’, adjacent to an ancient well that never runs dry, referred to as ‘Fuquan’.
At the foot of the mountain, one can find the ancient Da Ci Temple from the Six Dynasties period and the tomb path of Shi Miyuan, a prime minister from the Southern Song Dynasty. The scenic area is open year-round from 08:30 to 16:00.
