Dongtou, composed of 168 islands, is like a hundred pearls inlaid on the vast expanse of blue waves, appearing so resplendent and dazzling, majestic and magnificent. Dongtou has rich and colorful scenic resources. There are eight major scenic areas including Banping Mountain, Xiandieyan, Daqu Island, Niyu Island, Zhuyu, Damen Island, Sea Lake, and Dongsha, with more than 400 unique scenic spots spread across more than 40 islands.
The scenic area covers an area of more than 200 square kilometers. Dongtou became famous across China due to the movie ‘Hai Xia’ and the ‘Pioneer Women’s Militia Company’. The Hai Xia military theme park is a national coastal defense military theme park. Dongtou fishing ground is a large fishing ground in Zhejiang. It is a large national base for cultivating, processing and exporting Sargassum fusiforme and a base for cultivating laver and deep-water cages in Zhejiang Province. It is known as the ‘Hometown of Chinese Sargassum fusiforme’. Here, the scenery is charming, with both mountains and seas, gathering rich culture and a pleasant climate. It is rich in characteristics of ‘strange islands, beautiful reefs, excellent beaches, fresh fish, and excellent ecology’. The Qing Dynasty poet Wang Boxing once praised Dongtou, ‘There is a paradise overseas, and staying here for a while is like being an immortal. ‘ Banping Mountain is majestic and magnificent. The Pioneer Women’s Militia Company, famous for the Hai Xia spirit across China, is valiant. The Wanghailou Tower with a history of 1,500 years commands a view of three thousand li of Wu and Yue. Dongtou integrates sea tours, sea sports, sea experiences, marine culture, and fishing village customs. Together with Yandang Mountain and Nanxi River, it forms the Wenzhou ‘mountain-river-sea’ tourism golden triangle.The opening hours are all year round and open all day.
