The white old house is surrounded by the mountains beside the West Lake. Here is the former residence of Du Jinsheng, a patriotic industrialist in China and the founder of Hangzhou Du Jinsheng Silk Weaving Factory. In 1922, Du Jinsheng started weaving here. Therefore, this is also the former site of Du Jinsheng Silk Weaving Factory. It is listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Hangzhou. The former residence is composed of ancestral house, workshop, exhibition room and memorial room, showing Du Jinsheng’s life experience of arduous entrepreneurship and practical patriotism, as well as the silk culture of Jiangnan.
