Located north of Xizhu Market Street and south of Tieshu Oblique Street, the Eight Major Hutongs are arranged from west to east as follows: Baishun Hutong, Yanzhi Hutong, Hanjia Tan, Shaanxi Alley, Shi Tou Hutong, Wang Guangfu Oblique Street, Zhujia Hutong, and Lishat Hutong. In fact, when old Beijingers refer to the ‘Eight Major Hutongs,’ they are not specifically talking about these eight lanes but rather generally indicating the area around Qianmen Dashilar. The site is open all year round and accessible twenty-four hours a day.
