The Suzhou Creek flows through Shanghai and forms 13 river bends of more than 90 degrees, 11 of which are in the river section of Putuo District. There are a total of 18 relatively large river bends in this district, known as the ‘Eighteen Bends of Suzhou Creek’. The more common ones are named: Changshou Bay, Panjiawan, Changhua Bay, Tanziwan, Mengqing Bay, Xiaoshadu Bay, Zhujiawan, Xiaohuayuan Bay, Tanjiadu Bay, Shachang Bay, Xiaowanliutang Bay, Xuetang Bay, Jiuguoyuan Bay, Changfeng Bay, Huohua Bay, Beixinjing Bay, Xin Changzheng Bay, and Qilian Bay. Open all year round and open 24 hours a day.
