Elken Erkin, a Uighur musician, has always focused on inheriting and developing the traditional Uighur music heritage in his creations. He has fully absorbed the essence of the ancient Uighur DaoLang Muqam art, creating outstanding compositions that blend Chinese and Western elements and use the past for the present, such as ‘Tianshan Ying’ and ‘Qianfo Dong’. He has also served as the music director for the ‘Colorful Kashgar’ children’s art troupe, organizing, producing, adapting, and performing children’s songs from the Pamir Plateau’s ethnic minorities, leaving a valuable legacy for the inheritance of ethnic culture.
