Exianling Ecological and Cultural Tourism Area is located in Donghe Town, Dongfang City, Hainan Province. It is close to the ‘Daguangba’ reservoir, the second largest artificial lake in Hainan Island. It is an important part of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. It has the relatively intact karst landform original tropical rainforest preserved in the native state of Hainan, and has the reputation of ‘Little Guilin in the East’.
There are abundant tourism resources and human elements around and inside the scenic area: 1. The scenic area leans against the Daguangba by the Changhua River. The rare lake-type reservoir in the region provides rich fish resources for the people on both sides of the strait; 2. Here is the site of the Xiaoguangba Hydropower Station, one of the earliest in China. It is a historical witness to the Japanese invasion and plundering of our ancestors’ resources. A scenic area with red genes can provide more learning materials and creative inspiration for academic enthusiasts; 3. In the domestic rare rainforest karst landform scenic area, tourists can not only overlook the Nine Peaks of Exianniang and the dreamy Exianwan, but also explore and observe 1409 tropical plants and nearly 100 tropical limestone specialized species and 59 terrestrial shellfish species in the park; 4. Various stalactites, stalagmites and stone pillars in the Exianniang Cave and the meandering and beautiful karst waterfall form a unique cave wonder; 5. The scenic area has rich Li ethnic cultural heritage. The traditional festival of the Meifu Li ethnic tribe on the third day of March attracts tens of thousands of tourists to visit and experience every year. Generally speaking, Exianling is a scenic area integrating landscape wonders, scientific research and exploration, red genes and human charm. The total planned area of the scenic area is 80.49 square kilometers. The first-phase development scope totals 1.15 square kilometers, of which the core area is 1665.41 mu. Here, it integrates various tourism resources such as ‘green mountains, beautiful waters, strange caves, beautiful forests and Li ethnic feelings’. Featured landscapes such as ‘one mountain’ (Exianling), ‘one cave’ (Exianniang Cave) and ‘one waterfall’ (Exianniang Stream) have been developed. Not only are there rainforest wonders such as ‘Exian’s Dreamland’, ‘Lanxi Flower Valley’, ‘Butterfly Path’ and ‘Millennium Immortal Lizard’, but also there are tropical karsts with uncanny workmanship such as ‘Exianniang Welcomes Guests’, ‘Phoenix Flying Together’ and ‘Colorful Jade Pond’ waiting for you to explore. Open all year round from 08:30 to 18:30. Free; children aged 6 (excluding) to 18 (including) can purchase half-price tickets with certificates, and buy electric vehicles normally. Half price. Elderly: Elderly people aged 70 (including) and above can enter the park for free with their valid certificates and only need to purchase a round-trip sightseeing bus ticket for 32 yuan/person.
