Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai is a branch of the prestigious American music institution, located on the 4th floor of ‘The Bund Central’ at 139 East Nanjing Road in Huangpu District. Established through a collaboration between the Shanghai Bund Investment and Development Group and the American Jazz at Lincoln Center, it officially opened in October 2017. The center is managed by a dedicated team responsible for daily performance operations. Musicians and bands at Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai are from the United States, with a new band featuring every 2 to 3 weeks. The performance space at Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai covers an area of nearly 400 square meters and can accommodate approximately 130 audience members. Performances are held every evening except Mondays, with additional matinee shows on weekends (subject to actual performance schedules). The design of the performance space embodies the jazz concept of ‘swing,’ blending the charm of 1930s neo-continental classicism with contemporary urban artistic flair, creating an intimate space for global jazz musicians and audiences to interact up close, and becoming a highlight of the nighttime cultural life in the Nanjing Road Bund area.
