Fan Tower is located to the east of Kaifeng Railway Station and is one of the oldest existing structures in Kaifeng City, originally constructed during the Northern Song Dynasty. Standing at 36 meters tall, the tower features a unique hexagonal structure with a smaller six-story tower atop the three-story main tower. The tower’s body is built with different glazed gray square bricks, each of which is intricately carved with Buddhist figures such as Sakyamuni, Manjushri, Samantabhadra, Avalokitesvara, and Arhats. The carvings are exquisite and the images are vivid.

Inside the tower, on the walls and staircases of each level, there are a variety of Song Dynasty stone carving inscriptions, among which the regular script by the calligrapher Zhao Anren of the Song Dynasty is particularly eye-catching. The tower is open from 08:30 to 18:30 all year round; from 08:30 to 18:00 for preferential policies.
