Fangxing Square is located at the intersection of Nan Wu Road, Wenyi Road, Guangrong Street, Xibinhe Road, and Nan Ba Road in the Heping District, covering an area of 20,659 square meters.
During the Qing Dynasty, this location was known as the ‘Shi Li Matou’. Today, Fangxing Square serves as the boundary between Nan Wu Road and Wenhua Road.
The southwest corner of the square leads to Ningbo Road towards the direction of Shayang Road, while the northwest corner leads to Guangrong Street and Maluwan.
Interestingly, Fangxing Square is not ‘square’ in shape; it is composed of two rectangular mini-squares, with Jianshe East Road – Nan Wu Road – Wenhua Road, which connects Tiexi and Shenhe, running through it.
