Fanzeng Mountain is located five kilometers south of Quanwang Town, Quzhou City, with an altitude of 527.87 meters. Looking at it from dozens of miles away: The solitary peak is abrupt, with sheer sides on all sides, shaped like a farmer’s steamer. Its cylindrical mountain path is 120 meters in diameter, and the protruding rock fortress area is 9,700 square meters. The diameter of the volcanic conduit (rock tower) is about 250 meters, and the relative height exposed to the surface after erosion is 200 meters, which is truly rare. The currently developed scenic spots include Bamboo Sea Forest Wind, Tiger Stretching Waist, Wild Boar Forest, Rainbow Bridge, Stone Goddess, glass plank road, Baibu Ridge, etc. Those with courage can reach its summit. The top of the mountain is open and in the shape of a steamed bun. There are seven depressions and eight ridges, and a clear spring flows all year round. According to legend, when Zhu Yuanzhang raised an army and tried to capture Quzhou City but couldn’t take it for a long time. He was once in distress here. Fortunately, with the blessing of the Stone Goddess on Fanzeng Mountain, there was an endless supply of water and rice, and finally he escaped safely. When Zhu Yuanzhang ascended to the throne as the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, remembering his distress in those years, he specially decreed to name this mountain ‘Fanzeng Mountain’. Since the emperor is known as ‘dragon’, the people also call this mountain ‘Wolong Mountain’, with superior geographical environment. Throughout the ages, many famous people have emerged at the foot of Fanzeng Mountain. Empress Wang Zhongying of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty raised ducks by the stream at the foot of Fanzeng Mountain since she was young.
