Fayun Temple, also known as Faying Temple, is located 8 kilometers south of JiaXiang County, on the sunny side of Qing Mountain and the shady side of Jiao Mountain. It is built against the mountains, surrounded by a circle of mountains, creating a unique world. The temple was first constructed during the Tang Dynasty and is named after the saying ‘The world’s divine numbers Faying’.
Having a history of over a thousand years, the temple is home to numerous historical sites, too many to list. All 28 Buddha statues within the temple are jade carvings, vividly shaped, and brightly colored. The ‘Three Holy Buddhas’ are particularly dazzling, and the architecture is majestic and splendid.
On the right side of the Fayun Temple’s main hall, there is the Ganlu Spring, which is as clear as a mirror and flows all year round. Upon entering the temple, one sees Maitreya Buddha sitting in the front. The temple is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
