Feixia Mountain features beautiful landscapes and numerous historical sites. There are seventy-two peaks on both sides of the Yijiang River. The peaks are extremely strange, precipitous and dangerous. The river meanders and rushes through, forming a natural beauty of ‘a river flowing far to the sea, two mountains towering into the clouds’. It is mainly composed of Feixia Cave, Cangxia Cave, and Jinxia Buddhist Temple. Feixia Cave is surrounded by mountains on all sides and is famous for its magnificent architecture. Cangxia Cave is built in the dense forest and secluded valley. Clouds and mists will linger here for a long time, making the temple appear and disappear from time to time, hence its name. Jinxia Buddhist Temple is surrounded by green mountains on all sides. Ancient trees tower into the sky. The brook in front of the courtyard loops around. Peach blossoms sway. It is secluded like a paradise on earth. Feixia Mountain also has more than 30 scenic spots such as Songfeng Sunrise Pavilion, Changtian Tower, practice retreat, Dengji Bridge, Emperor’s Son Shrine, and Xixin Waterfall, as well as the Feishuitan mountain and water swimming pool. During the Spring Festival every year, a richly-programmed ‘Feixia Temple Fair’ and flower appreciation event are held. Coupled with the fact that it is surrounded by mountains, with deep valleys and forests, long clear streams, and a high content of negative ions in the air, it is an ideal place for summer vacation and relaxation and returning to nature. Only the palace halls are built up step by step along the mountain terrain, reaching up to seven levels, with a shocking momentum like the Potala Palace and a compelling illusion of soaring into the air. After every mountain rain, waves of purple mist rise from the col to the sky above the palace halls, fluttering and ethereal, hence it is called Feixia. The statues enshrined in the temple are vivid in form and valuable. It is one of the few religious places in the country and a large one in Lingnan region where Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism are integrated. The ancient cave enshrines the founders of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism as well as various immortals and Buddhas. The building area is more than 20,000 square meters. Cangxia Cave is built in the dense forest and secluded valley. Clouds and mists will linger here for a long time, making the temple appear and disappear from time to time, hence its name. The Yao pearl on the tiles of the main hall of the temple, the tip of Luoxingling Peak in front, and a natural stone Buddha on the mountain behind form a straight line. There is a玉堂春 flower tree with a history of several hundred years in the courtyard. It was planted by the emperor of the Ming Dynasty and is extremely rare and worth seeing.
