Xueyu Cave Scenic Area is located in Fengdu County, known as the ‘Hometown of Divine Songs’ in the East, just 17 kilometers away from the county town. It forms a linear tourist route with Fengdu Famous Mountain, Niuqian Gorge Drifting, Jiuchongtian, and Nantian Lake. The area is conveniently accessible by boat to Fengdu and then by car directly to the scenic area, or by driving directly from Chongqing.
Xueyu Cave holds high value for sightseeing and scientific research, and in 2004, it was awarded the title of ‘Observation and Research Station of the Karst Research Committee of the Chinese Geological Society and Karst Science Popularization Base’ by the China Cave Association. In 2005, it was rated as a National 4A Tourist Scenic Area by the National Tourism Administration. It is open year-round from 08:30 to 17:30. Preferential policies include: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) enter for free; children between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive) pay half price. Elderly people aged 65 and above enter for free; those aged between 60 and 65 pay half price. Firefighters with a firefighter’s certificate enter for free. Disabled people with a disability certificate enter for free. Active-duty military personnel with an officer’s certificate enter for free. Journalists with a press card enter for free. Disabled military personnel with a military meal card enter for free. Students with a full-time undergraduate degree or below pay half price.
Essential tips: 1. Touching the growing stalactites inside the cave is strictly prohibited, with a fine of 2000 yuan for each offense, and security is present throughout the tour. 2. There are no toilets inside the cave, so it is advisable to use the facilities before entering. 3. There are no trash bins inside the cave, and littering is not allowed with a fine of 200 yuan for each offense. 4. The cave is damp, and water often drips from the top, so visitors with cameras should take waterproof measures. 5. There is no luggage storage service at Xueyu Cave, so it is recommended that tourists travel light.
