Fengkai National Geological Park is a geological and geomorphological park with extremely high ornamental value. It is mainly divided into five scenic areas: Daban Stone Scenic Area, Longshan Scenic Area, Qiancengfeng Scenic Area, Huangyan Cave Ruins, and Yangchi Ancient Village. There are various types of geological and geomorphological scenic spots with diverse landscapes. Here, you can see limestone, sand shale, and granite. Different geological compositions form natural landscapes such as huge rocks, strange peaks, and secluded caves with their own characteristics. Generally, tourists who come here are mainly self-driving tourists from Guangzhou or those who sign up for a two-day tour with local travel agencies. Because the distances between scenic spots are relatively far, it is not very suitable to come by long-distance bus. Otherwise, you may only be able to choose one scenic area to visit. After arriving in Fengkai, you can go to the Qiancengfeng observation deck to enjoy flowers in the morning of the first day. In March, azaleas are in full bloom here and are extremely beautiful. In the afternoon, you can visit the Longshan Scenic Area and the Huangshi Cave Ruins. The Longshan Scenic Area is known as ‘Little Guilin in Guangdong’ and is the main scenic spot of the entire Fengkai Geological Park. Here there is the Mengduoqi karst cave, and you can also watch ethnic performances. The karst cave is divided into three caves. The first one is beautiful. You can feel the combination of the power of nature’s uncanny workmanship and the scenery. However, according to tourists who have been there, it is not as good as the karst caves in Guilin. The second and third ones are artificial karst caves, so they are relatively ordinary. The third karst cave is mainly for selling tofu pudding. And at the Huangshi Cave Ruins, you can see some cultural landscapes, such as the historical Fengkai ancient cultural site. Visiting these will basically take up a whole day. If you are interested on the second day, you can go to the Daban Stone Scenic Area and Yangchi Ancient Village. These two scenic spots are currently not managed and are free. It takes about half an hour to climb back and forth in the Daban Stone Scenic Area. You can see the entire panorama of the spotted stone. The exposed characteristic rock layers are very charming. Of course, you can also take a photo by the roadside and end there. Its panorama is very beautiful, and most tourists do this. Yangchi Ancient Village is a relatively dilapidated Ming and Qing ancient village with an original flavor. However, because it takes a long walk in the ancient village and is relatively dilapidated, if you expect too much, you may be disappointed. Regarding accommodation, if you sign up for a two-day tour, it usually includes hotels. If you are a self-driving guest, you generally stay in the Longshan Scenic Area. For example, there is the Fengkai Wonderland Hotel here. The peak interest building is 360 yuan per night (hotel prices may change during peak and off seasons, for reference). Of course, there are many economy hotels nearby, about 150 yuan.
