Fengming Mountain has a rich historical and cultural accumulation. It is the location of the ‘ninth small cave heaven’ of Taoist culture and is known as a ‘fortunate land with caves and blessings’. Since ancient times, it has been a tourist attraction. Now, it has formed ‘ten scenic spots of Fengming’. Among them, the hanging stone waterfall and the thousand-year-old vine (also known as Guoshanlong) are regarded as wonders and are a part of the provincial Cao’e River Scenic Area. In the 1950s, China’s first film ‘Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai’ took exterior scenes here. The Fengming Cave Waterfall is located on the mountainside of Fengming Mountain in Fenghui Town. Hence the name ‘Fengming’. It is also said that a long time ago, a woman cultivated immortality here and so it is called ‘Fairy Maiden’. It is also said that Wei Boyang of the Eastern Han Dynasty made pills here and became an immortal after the pills were completed. The stone cave is a huge fissure on the vertical cliff. It is formed due to mountain changes or water erosion. The cave entrance can only accommodate one or two people to enter and exit at the same time. Inside the cave, a mountain spring splashes down from the cave top more than 10 meters high. The rain and fog are misty, forming a waterfall. Several huge stones are horizontally supported on the cave top with towering cliffs on both sides. The specific business hours and operating status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
