[Event] Organized by MQ Musical Theatre, the Leslie Cheung-themed musical ‘For You’ (Café I Do – The Leslie Cheung Musical) will officially premiere at the Xiqu Centre Grand Theatre in the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong, from August 16 to 25, 2024!
The ‘For You’ musical will perform many of Leslie Cheung’s popular classic songs, including ‘H2O’, ‘The Wind Continues to Blow’, ‘Pursuit’, and more, featuring local professional performers from Hong Kong, including singers, actors, dancers, and musicians, with modern stage design and lighting effects, bringing audiences an international-level performance!
[Performance Overview] Brothers LOUIE and PAUL have inherited the ice room that their late father had been running for many years. However, due to urban redevelopment in the area and poor business management, the ice room is finally facing its last day of business. To fulfill their father’s wish as a loyal fan of Leslie Cheung, they plan to hold a concert themed around his songs on this day, to meet friends through music and to give the ice room a perfect ending.
Against all odds, as the doors were about to close, not a single patron came to visit. They lamented how their carelessness had once again led to the downfall of their establishment. Until, one by one, old friends returned to this place where everyone knew each other, all for the sake of Leslie, to reminisce together about the past…
