The Nan Yuan Confucius Memorial Hall, originally the site of the former German Consulate, covers an area of 1165.39 square meters. It features a brick, stone, and wood structure, consisting of two floors with an attic and a basement.
The southern entrance is adorned with a semi-circular arch made of rough mushroom stones. The central corner of the building is rounded, topped with an octagonal spire, and the adjacent gable walls on either side are asymmetrical, contributing to the overall aesthetic and elegance of the building.
In 1986, Kong Lingren, a professor at Shandong University and daughter of Kong Xiangmian, donated the building to the Qingdao Municipal Government, which then established it as the ‘Nan Yuan Confucius Memorial Hall’. Since then, the living room on the first floor has been converted into an exhibition hall, displaying portraits of Confucius along with related works and documents.
The opening hours are subject to the daily operational status.
