The Former Residence of Chen Yingshi, constructed in the late Qing Dynasty, stands as a quintessential traditional southern Yangtze River residence facing south. This historic site, originally known as ‘Wulichang’, was the nurturing ground for Chen Yingshi, a prominent martyr of the modern democratic revolution, as well as the birthplace of his nephews, Chen Lifu and Chen Guofu. It holds immense significance for honoring martyrs and fostering patriotism education.
The Chen Yingshi Former Residence Memorial Hall presents an exhibition titled ‘The Soul of Yingshi’. The display employs a variety of traditional and innovative methods, including sculptures, oil paintings, photographs, time tunnels, two-dimensional single-chip landscaping, traditional Huzhou board paintings, and commemorative walls. A rich collection of cultural relics, replicas, photos, artworks, and handicrafts are showcased, vividly depicting Chen Yingshi’s diverse life journey and his remarkable historical contributions.
