The former site of meritorious officials, also known as the old enclosure of Sungang. It is located in Luohu District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. Built in the early Ming Dynasty, it has a history of more than 600 years. It was built by the He family of Sungang in the early Ming Dynasty to commemorate their ancestor He Zhen, a famous virtuous person in Lingnan. Inside the enclosure, there are 3 longitudinal alleys, 6 transverse alleys, a total of 140 rooms, and 3 wells. The outer wall of the south gate is built with pink stone. The stone plaque on the lintel is engraved with four large characters ‘Former Site of Meritorious Officials’. It is a relatively complete Guangfu enclosed village building preserved in Shenzhen City and has high value for studying ancient architectural art in Shenzhen area. Opening hours: 09:30 – 20:00 from January 1st to December 31st.
