The former site of the First Park of Guangzhou Uprising Historical Sites is located in Lianxin Road, Yuexiu District. The First Park is the predecessor of Guangzhou People’s Park. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was the office of Guangdong Province’s Supervisory Commissioner for Discipline Inspection. In the Ming Dynasty, it was the office of the Commander-in-Chief. In the Qing Dynasty, it was successively the palace of Prince Pingnan and the office of the governor of Guangdong Province. In 1920, it was opened as the First Park of Guangzhou. In 1925, it was renamed as ‘Central Park’, and in 1966, it was renamed as People’s Park. The park covers an area of about 44,800 square meters.
