Tsai Chin, after 45 years in the music industry, continues to resonate with audiences of all ages. Generations born in the ’60s and ’70s grew up with ‘Ferry’ and ‘Your Gaze’; those from the ’80s and ’90s associate ‘Forgotten Time’ with the classic Hong Kong film ‘Infernal Affairs’; and those born in the ’00s were captivated by ‘Your Tenderness’ at music festivals… As times change, the sentiment remains, her songs continue to resonate in people’s hearts. Tsai Chin tirelessly brings joy to her audience through her music, saying, “I love to see the satisfied faces when the audience leaves.” For the ‘New Mood’ concert, Tsai Chin will perform many classic hits.
Tsai Chin is a renowned female singer from Taiwan, who began her career in the 1970s as a folk singer and released her first album ‘Chu Sai Qu’. Over the past four decades, she has released nearly 50 albums, won numerous awards, and is known for her deep, mellow, and powerful voice. ‘Your Tenderness’ is her claim to fame, and her songs are like fine wines that improve with age. In the lyrics of ‘Reading You’, “You are my poetry, I never tire of reading you a thousand times.” This seemingly touching love song, delivered in Tsai Chin’s gentle voice, conveys sincere emotions without screaming or shouting, yet touching the heart with every word.
About the theme of this concert, Tsai Chin revealed that ‘New Mood’ is a homophone for ‘good mood’, which uplifts the spirit just by hearing it. It also implies a woman (good) with a new mood, and that woman is Tsai Chin herself. The inability to perform during the pandemic made her realize that “when things are not going well, one should maintain a good mood, otherwise, it can lead to depression and giving up.” What people need most is a good mood! To love and accept different voices with a good mood is what makes life truly good, hence the concert is named ‘New Mood’. She hopes to convey positive energy to the audience through this concert.
Open time: Saturday, December 28, 19:30 – 21:30. Starts at 19:30, about 120 minutes (subject to on-site conditions).
