The old shopkeeper retired due to illness and stayed behind the scenes. However, the two young owners are not engaged in proper business. Fortunately, Lu Mengshi, an external aid, was entrusted with a critical mission and turned ‘Fujude’ from loss to profit. Seeing the business booming, the two young owners were resentful of his overshadowing achievements and vowed to compete with Lu Mengshi for the ownership and financial power! He was once the leading actor of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre and a full-time actor of Spring-Time Stage Productions. He served as the director of A Sentimental Story and has written the script Weeds in a Stinking Pot. In recent years, he has also participated in television and film productions in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. His works include The Miracle Box, The Bloodshed of Heroes, Tokyo Trial, The Sound of the Secret Bureau’s Gunfire, Angel Heart, Chang Hen Ge by Wang Anyi, Legend of Wind and Clouds, City of Memory, Mother’s Heart Strategy, Glamorous Tang Dynasty, A Dream of Splendor, Secret of Three Kingdoms, Shock Wave 2, Warriors of Future, Drifting, Hong Kong Family, A Guilty Conscience 2, etc. Tse Kwan-ho won the Best Actor at the 34th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards for the movie The Legend of the Mad Phoenix and the Best Supporting Actor at the 4th New Era International Film Festival Golden Bauhinia Awards for A Guilty Conscience 2. In 2023, he won the Best Actor at the 7th Chinese Drama Ceremony for the stage play The Best Restaurant in the World. In the same year, he was awarded an honorary fellow by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has written columns in newspapers and magazines and published the essay collections Cai Nan and Jumping into the Mundane World. He has been invited to serve as a part-time researcher and guest lecturer at the School of Film of the Hong Kong Baptist University.Established in 1977 under the leadership of the Hong Kong government, the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre is a long-standing and large-scale professional theatre troupe in Hong Kong. These works have won awards in various significant competitions, including the Shanghai Magnolia Drama Performance Art Award, Chinese Drama Festival, Chinese Drama Grand Ceremony, Shanghai One Drama Award, International Drama ‘Academy Award’ (Director’s Award), and Asia Academy Creative Grand Prize. Awards cover actors, playwrights, directors, stage design, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Drama Development Special Contribution Award, Best Investor, Best Chinese Drama Producer, and Media Attention Award. The theatre’s productions are also beloved by domestic media. The musical ‘Top Hammer’ was rated as the ‘Most Popular Musical of the Year’ by Beijing News in 2017 and selected as one of the ‘Top Ten Most Artistic Performances’. ‘Last Supper’ was chosen as one of the Top Ten/Six Best Works by TimeOut Beijing and Beijing News in 2013. The Korean version of the play premiered in Seoul in 2019 and won the Best Work Award at the 7th Seoul Drama People’s Grand Prize. Its Mandarin version was performed in Beijing, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Shanghai in 2021 and returned to Beijing and Shenzhen in 2023 with great acclaim.
