Fragrance Hill Red Leaves Festival

On October 11th, the Fragrance Hill Red Leaves Festival commenced. According to the observation group of Fragrance Hill Park, the average red leaf color change index across the park was 5%. This year, the park introduced a ‘Map of Leaf Viewing’ for the first time, which includes 18 spots for viewing colorful autumn leaves. It is anticipated that after the Double Ninth Festival, as temperatures drop and the temperature difference between day and night increases, the red leaves will change color more rapidly.

The middle and late October, especially after the Frost’s Descent solar term, will be the optimal period for viewing. The Double Ninth Festival, with its clear autumn weather, is an ideal time for climbing high and enjoying the scenery, and the widely anticipated red leaves of Fragrance Hill have also entered their color-changing phase. This year’s Red Leaves Festival features the park’s first selection of 18 spots for viewing colorful autumn leaves with the ‘Map of Leaf Viewing’, providing more choices for citizens and tourists to enjoy the park and its red leaves.

For instance, at the ‘Fine Day Garden’ spot, the interweaving of red maple and yellow ginkgo creates a beautiful autumn scene without the need to climb the mountain; at the ‘Cloud Watching’ spot, one can ascend the pavilion and overlook the Fragrance Hill Temple nestled among the colorful leaves, with the rich autumn scenery in full view. The festival is open from October 11th to November 15th, with specific business hours subject to the park’s daily opening status.
