Fujian Museum: A Modern Showcase of Fujian’s Cultural Heritage

Located within West Lake Park, the Fujian Museum is a distinctive architectural gem that embodies the essence of maritime culture while integrating the stone culture of Southern Fujian and the ancient architectural styles of Fujian. The new museum complex includes a multifunctional academic report hall, an image hall, VIP rooms, conference rooms, the ‘Bo Garden’ Cultural and Historical Training Center, and the ‘Yi’an Ju’ Tea Art Room, making it a well-equipped, modern museum with comprehensive functions.
With a collection of nearly 170,000 cultural relics and natural specimens, including over 30,000 valuable artifacts, the museum boasts an exhibition area of 10,000 to 20,000 square meters, which includes six temporary exhibition halls covering an area of 3,000 square meters.


The museum currently features nine basic exhibitions: ‘The Light of Ancient Fujian Civilization’, ‘Modern Tempests in Fujian’, ‘Ancient Fujian Export Porcelain’, ‘Treasures of Craftsmanship’, ‘Fujian Opera Panorama’, ‘Dinosaur World’, ‘Animal Kingdom’, and ‘Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting from Successive Dynasties in the Museum Collection’, presenting a comprehensive and systematic display of Fujian’s unique historical and cultural landscape.


Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00; Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 20:00; closed all day on Mondays; and during New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, the museum is open from 09:00 to 20:00.
