The Fujian Revolutionary History Memorial Hall is located at the foot of Gushan, a scenic spot in Fuzhou. The memorial hall covers an area of 30 mu, with a building area of 16,000 square meters. The whole building integrates Chinese and Western architectural styles. Centered on the inner square, it organizes a spatial sequence of the preface hall, exhibition halls, a panorama hall, an office building, a training center, etc.

The museum building has the style of Fujian earth buildings. The large-scale shadow carving “The Soul of Fujian” in the preface hall is 2.4 meters high and 14 meters long. Engraved on the black granite are the prominent figures and the essence of revolutionary cultural relics in Fujian over the past century. It is magnificent and vivid, and can be regarded as a classic work of Fujian arts and crafts.

The “Exhibition of Fujian Revolutionary History” and the “Liberation of Fujian” panorama hall are the basic exhibitions of the memorial hall. The “Exhibition of Fujian Revolutionary History” covers an area of about 1,800 square meters, displaying more than 800 revolutionary cultural relics and more than 800 historical photos. The exhibition combines cultural relics, panel displays with historical scenes, and is equipped with modern means such as sound, light, and electricity, comprehensively and vividly showing the century-long historical panorama of Fujian from the Opium War in 1840 to the founding of New China in 1949.

The “Liberation of Fujian” panorama painting is 80 meters long and 17 meters high. It uses a seamless canvas to paint the war scene. In the 180-degree semi-circular viewing space, combined with large-scale ground modeling and high-tech demonstrations such as sound, light, and electricity, it vividly and artistically reproduces the fierce battle scenes of the land and sea wars in Fuzhou and Xiamen during the liberation in 1949. It is magnificent, grand and spectacular, with strong shock, appeal and expressiveness, making the audience feel immersive. The “Liberation of Fujian” panorama hall is currently the largest panorama hall in China and also the first of its kind in the history of Fujian culture and art.
