The Yongding Tulou includes the Fujian Prince Tulou Scenic Area, Fujian King Tulou Scenic Area, Chuxi Tulou Ancient Village Scenic Area, Zhongchuan Ancient Village and other tulou clusters. The Fujian Prince Tulou Scenic Area is a world cultural heritage site and a national 5A-level tourist scenic area. It is a very distinctive tulou village and is known as China’s beautiful countryside. There are more than 120 tulou with different shapes, among which the representative ones are the magnificent and Chinese-Western combined ‘Prince Tulou’ – Zhencheng Lou, the palace-style tulou known as the ‘Little Potala Palace’ – Kuiju Lou, the classic five-phoenix-style tulou – Fuyu Lou, and the small round tulou like a rice measure – Rusheng Lou, etc.

In the scenic area, there are colorful experience projects such as rammed tulou, Shifan music, marionettes, and Hakka wedding performances.Location: Hongkeng Village, Hukeng Town, Yongding District, Longyan City, Fujian Province. The Fujian King Tulou Scenic Area is a world cultural heritage site and is located in Gaotou Township, Yongding District. The landmark building in the scenic area – Chengqi Lou was built in the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. It is known for its many rings and large scale. At its peak, more than 800 people lived there.
In 1981, it was included in the Chinese Dictionary of Scenic Spots and obtained the title of ‘Tulou King’. It shines together with Chinese scenic spots such as the Beijing Temple of Heaven and Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. It is the Hakka tulou that attracted the attention of architectural experts earlier. In 1986, the Fujian residential stamp issued by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of China was patterned after Chengqi Lou. In addition to Chengqi Lou, Qiao Fu Lou, Shize Lou and Wuyun Lou in the scenic area are all included in the World Heritage List.

The Chuxi Tulou Ancient Village Scenic Area is a world cultural heritage site and is a magnificent tulou cluster in Fujian Tulou. It has 5 round tulou and 31 square tulou. The scenic area is not only large in scale but also has the characteristics of ‘concentration, beauty, antiquity, specialty, and popularity’.

The Zhongchuan Ancient Village has created the ‘Zhongchuan cultural phenomenon’ which is called incredible by historians and writers. It is also known as the ‘number one overseas Chinese hometown in the world’ and a ‘family of civil and military scholars’.
